Morning: Base Camp Basic Training
- Your journey begins at Terra Overland’s Base Camp and 4×4 Park.
- Dive into the day with an introduction to basic off-road driving.
- Get behind the wheel of our Overland Outfitted Jeep and discover 4-wheel high (4WH) and 4-wheel low (4WLO) modes.
- Learn about approach, breakover, and departure angles for safe and thrilling driving.
Early Morning: Guided Trailblazing
- After mastering the basics, your expert tour guide takes over.
- Sit back and enjoy the ride as we drive from Base Camp to the legendary Union Springs Trail in the George Washington National Forest.
- Along the way, soak in Shenandoah Valley lore, history, hotspots, and fascinating legends, from Jamestown to Beal’s Treasure.
Mid Morning: Off-Road Exploration
- As we hit the trail, we air down the Jeep’s tires.
- Engage in discussions about various off-road driving techniques.
- NOW! It’s your turn to take control behind the wheel as we shift into 4WD.
- Traverse through the National Forest, where the terrain gradually becomes more challenging.
- Ascend from 1000 feet above sea level to an impressive 4500 feet.
Lunchtime: Campsite Luncheon
- Pause for lunch at a scenic campsite.
- Participate in preparing a self-packed meal using the Jeep’s built-in kitchen and refrigerator.
Early Afternoon: Second Leg of Union Springs Trail
- After lunch, continue the exhilarating journey along Union Springs Trail.
- Make a brief stop at Flagpole Knob for stunning views.
- Capture some memorable photos of the landscape.
Mid Afternoon: Reddish Knob Overlook
- Venture onwards to one of Virginia’s highest points, Reddish Knob Overlook.
- Enjoy breathtaking vistas and soak in the beauty of nature.
- After taking in the sights, air up the Jeep tires.
- Commence your journey back to our Base Camp.
Late Afternoon: Adventures End
- Arrive back at Terra Overland’s Base Camp, marking the end of an unforgettable off-road adventure.
